Nick of Time

Nick of Time
By Tim Downs
Published by Thomas Nelson

Forensic entomologist Nick Polchak, also known as the Bug Man, is just a few days away from marrying Alena, when he ends up following a cold case that leads him away from his fiancé and jeopardizes their wedding plans altogether.  Alena soon sets off to look for Nick, as they both re-examine their reasons for marriage.

Combining an intriguingly suspenseful plot while simultaneously illustrating characteristics of a godly, biblical courtship and marriage is a work to be applauded.  I was very impressed with the sound direction the philosophical elements took in the discussions of marriage and “advice” between friends.
The twists and turns throughout the book kept me captivated. The twist at the end I never saw coming – great job Downs.

Nick of Time is the first book I have read by author Tim downs. Not knowing what to expect, I was very pleasantly surprised. Suspense and thrillers are not usually my first choice in a read, but I not only heartily recommend Nick of Time, but am now interested in reading other works by Downs, particularly those in the Bug Man series.
